One way to begin healing the world:

Start seeing everything as sacred.

Today I woke up and started my morning routine as per usual. Gentle stretching in bed maybe a  “happy baby” a few head circles or seated cat and cow, then I head to the kitchen.

Cleaning the French press carafe as the electric kettle begins to boil. Pouring the steaming liquid over the cacao brew which has been slowly replacing my coffee beans. The sound is like no other, have you ever listened?

While it brews I fill a small stone bowl with water and step outside for my meditation.

Lately, I am greeted most prominently by the smell of a large lavender bush, and the hum of bees within it as they are already busy at their sacred work.

I stand in front of it, saying hello is the sun peaks up over the mountains through the trees in the blossoms lighting the tips of their wings and it all sings

Today, one Bee curled on top of the blossom, not moving, caught my eye.

At first, I shrugged and thought “he must be sleeping, at least I hope he’s just sleeping and he’s OK, maybe he got pollen-drunk;)” I giggled silently to myself as

I went about my prayer to the seven directions.

As I returned to face the lavender bush he was still there. I finished my prayer and took one step closer to face him directly and lean in.

I thought, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bee sleeping, I don’t know why I almost shrugged this moment off, as if it was just another thing, when, actually, it was incredibly significant”.

What are the chances?

That both things would happen

A lil bumblebee would be sleeping on top of a lavender bloom

And even more significantly

That I would step outside

and notice it .

I felt like a fairy as I gazed on in wonder.

Suddenly, his little black stick-like limbs started moving, brushing against his fur much like a cat. Almost as if rubbing the pollen-dusted sleep from his eyes.

He propped himself up with those teeny limbs, and turned slightly to face me head on

At first, I thought “uh oh, he’s going to attack, he feels threatened” etc. after all I would be too, if I woke up to a giant human staring at me.

But then I softened “maybe not, maybe he’s just curious, too,“ and we sat staring at each other for a moment, having a moment, a conversation, a sacred connection.

Me and the bumblebee.

The sun peeking over the horizon &

Glistening through oak tree leaves as if spying on us.

The other bees, buzzing around, unaffected.

The smell, lifting from his world, carried by the warm summer breeze into mine.

Sublime. Divine. Sacred.

One moment.

An entire altar.

And I am altered.

And just like that, his wings did their things, and he joined his friends going about his business, or should I say “buzz – Ness” 😎😜🤓

One moment.

A thousand sacred offerings.

We are practicing seeing the world and ourselves with sacred eyes each morning.

Beyond duality there is no mirror

I don’t wonder anymore. I know. I hope you are starting to see and know it too. They’ll call you crazy if you point at them. Like they...
